Mismukuno is an ode to the famous Japanese teppanyaki. It is a spin-off from the popular teppanyaki restaurants. Founded in 2015, we’re offering a modern take on this Japanese cuisine. Teppanyaki is a Japanese-style cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food in front of guests. Diners can feast their favorite teppanyaki in a contemporary and casual setting.
Despite sounding Japanese, Mismukuno is playful portmanteau of the Filipino words “mismo” which means “exactly” and “kuno” which means “not really.” It might also roughly mean “Miss mo ‘ko, noh?” where guests will definitely miss the food and come back for more.
The interior is reminiscent of childhood favorite Japanese anime such as Astro Boy, Gundam, Voltes V, and others. The star of the restaurant is the bar, where the teppanyaki is cooked by dancing chefs.
The restaurants take pride in our teppanyaki made from the freshest ingredients. Our menu includes seafood, steak, and other healthier options such as hibachi tofu, ika teriyaki, and shitake mushrooms. Experience a different way of teppanyaki with Mismukuno.
